Andrea Dionisi

Andrea Dionisi began playing drums at the age of eight, coming into contact with various band associations, including the Riva del Garda Band. After completing his studies at the F.A. Bonporti Conservatory of Trento under the guidance of Stefano Pisetta (Bachelor's and Master's degrees) and at NAM Bovisa in Milan with Maxx Furian, he won a scholarship to Berklee College of Music and moved to Boston in January 2021. In May 2024, he graduated summa cum laude in "Music Performance, Drums" from the prestigious American institution.

During his years of study at the Conservatory, with the band ZeroMantra, he won the "Premio Nazionale delle Arti" dedicated to Claudio Abbado in Pescara (2015) and the "Premio Nazionale delle Arti" dedicated to Pino Daniele in Benevento (2017). With the same group, he recorded "La distanza di un semitono" (2020), an album of original Italian pop-songwriter style songs.

From 2017 to 2021, he was a percussion teacher at the C. Eccher Music School in Cles (TN).

In July 2023, he won the Music 4 the Next Generation competition with the Bellini 4tet quartet and embarked on a European tour, performing in jazz clubs and festivals in Berlin, Vienna, Dresden, Brno, Ljubljana, Milan, Bologna, Florence, and Rome. He has participated in numerous international events, such as the Musica Riva Festival (Italy) in 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024, collaborating with musicians from all over the world. Collaborations include Roberta Gentile (Incognito, Eros Ramazzotti) and American artist Christelle Pascal (Earth Wind & Fire, Doja Cat).

In 2024, on the occasion of the festival's 40th anniversary, he was appointed "Artist in Residence," performing with Maestro Tiger Okoshi, a professor at Berklee College of Music, known for his collaborations with internationally renowned artists such as Pat Metheny and the Buddy Rich Orchestra.

In the United States, Andrea Dionisi performs in a variety of musical contexts, such as Latin music, modern jazz, Balkan music, R&B, and pop/rock. He has had the privilege of collaborating with internationally acclaimed musicians such as Venezuelan harpist Eduardo Betancourt, a Latin Grammy Award winner, Brazilian percussionist Marcus Santos, and American cellist Allison Eldredge.
