Lorenzo Bellini
Lorenzo Bellini is a pianist, composer, and bandleader based in Vienna (AUT). Strongly influenced by New York pianists Mulgrew Miller and Kenny Kirkland, Bellini's composition incorporates a blend of harmonic depth, melodic clarity, and gospel atmosphere. His music has been described as "vital, essential, pure, luminous, and profoundly serious energy" (Garda Jazz Festival) and "powerful, imaginative, innovative, courageous, dynamic yet poetic, romantic, lyrical, and super genuine" (Tiger Okoshi). In 2021, he released his debut album of original compositions, Love Grain; followed by Source, recorded with his Italian quartet and forthcoming in 2025 on GleAM Records. In 2021, he graduated from Berklee College of Music in Boston (USA) with a major in Performance. In 2022, he received a scholarship from the Royal Academy of Music in London (UK), where he moved after 4 years in the States, pursuing a Master's in Jazz Piano. As a bandleader, he leads two bands: the London-based Cloudy Peaks (with Kasper Rietkerk, Guy Dempsey, and Luke McCarthy) and his Italian quartet featuring Luca De Toni on guitar, Matteo Padoin on bass, and Andrea Dionisi on drums. With the latter, in 2023, he won 1st prize at the Music 4 The Next Generation Contest in Italy for the best composition, Source. As a musical director and sideman, he has performed with artists such as Tiger Okoshi, Ni Maxine, Dennis Montgomery, Christelle Pascall, and Roberta Gentile.
