Hiro Hadame

Hiro Hadame is a Japanese opera producer, collaborative pianist, and music consultant with extensive experience in international opera performance, production, and education. A graduate of Kunitachi College of Music and its graduate school, he developed his musical expertise through collaborations with distinguished international opera singers, particularly Italian artists such as Gino Bechi and Giuseppe Taddei.

Drawing on the traditions of Italian bel canto, he specializes in vocal technique, phonetics, musical interpretation, and dramatic expression. His coaching extends beyond singers to collaborative pianists, instrumentalists, and conductors, emphasizing the relationship between language, vocal expression, and orchestral performance.

In 2005, he contributed to musical productions at the Italian Pavilion of Expo 2005 Aichi and organized the San Marco Orchestra and its recording Un sogno di Venezia. Since 2006, he has been closely involved with Toyota City Concert Hall, producing and artistically directing more than 50 concerts, operas, and concert performances. His productions include Tosca (2009), Madama Butterfly (2011), La traviata (2013), L'elisir d'amore (2014), La Bohème (2016), Rigoletto (2017), Die Fledermaus (2018), The Merry Widow (2019), and The Magic Flute (2024). These projects have frequently involved collaborations with Italian conductors and international performers.

Hadame has served as a jury member and masterclass instructor at international opera competitions in Italy, South Korea, and China, including the prestigious Riccardo Zandonai International Competition for Young Opera Singers.

For approximately two decades, he has taught opera history, musical expression, and performance workshops at Waseda University's School of International Liberal Studies, introducing students from diverse backgrounds to the artistic and linguistic traditions of opera.

His recent work also includes international recording projects spanning Russian art songs, Mesopotamian music, and European vocal repertoire. Alongside his artistic activities, he has pursued interdisciplinary research investigating the relationships between language, posture, sound vibration, and ensemble performance through motion-capture technology in collaboration with Toyota's technical development researchers.
